On july 15th,the day we finished our 2nd sem exams we planned to go to Skandagiri.The first group of us included me(anil),anirudh,abi,sharath and sharma.Later,we were joined by Pramod and his friends.Eight of us met near Majestic bus stand and took a bus to chikkaballapur.We got a bus immediately and reached Chikkaballapur by 11'o clock in the night.

From Chikkaballapur bus stop,we took a deviation to left and walked for about 15 minutes.Again we took a left near Deepika wine stores and then a dead end right to reach Papagni mu<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; The mutt is about 3 kms from the main road.It was about 12 and first drizzle of rain started.Within 10 minutes,we were completely drenched but we decided to trek inspite of rain.

The trek starts from the Papagni mutt.Take a right deviation behind the mutt to reach the base camp. Guides can be hired near the mutt,they charge you around 200Rs.But we decided to trek on our own.My sincere advice is to have a torch with each person but unfortunately we had only one for eight of us.We manged to cross the halfway mark with the torch but suddenly,our only hope of light started to fade and finally collapsed.We were in complete darkness with the rain falling down heavily.Everything seemed to be hell.Amidst all these,the path in front of us came to an abrupt end and we started to sense the first signs of fear.But we managed to find the path within 30min,thanks to Sharath a<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; At about 4'o clock,we were joined by another group of trekkers.They were about 10 and we never managed to see their faces.Still the rain had not stopped.We decided to move further and joined them.The path ahead was now more easy to follow because of the light they had.We reached the peak at about 5:30 in the morning and finally the rain stopped.For the first time since evening,we were dry....Finally,we sat in a dry place and waited for the sun.

Just minutes before 6,the first rays of sun were felt and all the darkness started to fade making way for the bright sun.The very sight was amazing.We started to see a temple a few yards away and there were clouds moving all around.The clouds below us made a thick hazy appearence and it looked like loads and loads of cotton spreade<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt;
